The PADI Self Reliant Diver course is designed for divers who wish to enhance their independence and self-sufficiency underwater. While it is not about diving alone, the course focuses on increasing your ability to handle emergencies and make decisions independently. It’s ideal for divers who want to improve their skills for solo dives or for those who frequently dive in challenging conditions.
In this course, you will learn how to plan and execute dives with increased self-reliance, including managing gas consumption and emergency scenarios. You will also practice using specialized equipment, such as surface marker buoys (SMBs) and lift bags, to handle various situations safely and effectively.
By completing the PADI Self Reliant Diver course, you will develop the skills and confidence to handle a wide range of diving scenarios. Whether you’re a photographer, videographer, or dive professional, this course enhances your ability to dive safely and efficiently in diverse environments.
This 3-dive course is generally scheduled over 2 days. Each morning will start with a knowledge development and skills practice session which will prepare you for the afternoon’s diving.
The course includes all the elements required for completion: internationally recognised PADI Self Reliant Diver certification card, full equipment hire including torches and boat fees, high quality instruction from experienced and qualified instructors
